“The front of the invisibles” is a documentary that shows the Ukrainian conflict from the perspective of the
Russian front. Shot between August and September 2022, the documentary presents the point of view of
the population living in the territories currently under Russian control. This point of view has been little
shown in the West. From the bombed-out neighborhoods of Donetsk to the beaches of Mariupol, from the
celebrations in Lisichansk to the daily life in the destroyed buildings of Severodonetsk, from the shelters of
the Azovmash factory to the former detention center of Stanitsa Luganskaja, Sara Reginella dives into a
conflict that has been persisting since 2014, but which only in 2022 came into the center of international
news. Like an invisible fly, the author, on her fourth expedition in the territories of Donbass, touches the
lives trapped in the war, accompanied by the singing of Dina and Vasilisa, two musicians from Donetsk who
defy pain by art. A journey among the invisibles of a conflict, whose front is still a ghost for the West.
